Asia-Pacific

The Asia-Pacific region is another important market for ThyssenKrupp. The Group generated sales there of about €3.5 billion in fiscal year 2008/09 (previous year: €3.8 billion). That represents 8,5% of ThyssenKrupp's total sales or 12.5% of ThyssenKrupp's foreign sales.

China and India are currently our most important markets. The Group generates sales of €1.9 billion in these countries. This corresponds to 56% of all sales in the Asia-Pacific region.

Also in terms of local presence, China and India are our most important bases in the region. In these two countries alone, ThyssenKrupp currently has more than 12,800 employees representing round 80% of our workforce in Asia-Pacific.
