Help on file formats/plug-ins
Numerous files such as audio/video files and various types of documents are provided at thyssenkrupp.com. The software
needed to display the files is provided by the manufacturers as a download via the listed links.
Video, audio and animations
We provide video and audio content in “MP3”, “MP4” and “Flash” formats depending on the type of material. After downloading and saving, “MP3” and “MP4” formats can be played using various media players such as the Video Lan Client (VLC) or Apple Quicktime. For “Flash” formats you will need the Adobe Flash Player add-on for your browser.
If you do not have the required add-on installed, it can be downloaded free from the website of the respective manufacturer. Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions
PDF files
In order to display documents in the original layout, we use the PDF format. To open these files, you will need the Adobe Reader, which can be downloaded free of charge from the website of the manufacturer Adobe.
Zip archives
ZIP archives are needed to compress large files or gather several files together into one. To open ZIP archives (files ending in ".zip") you will need a ZIP program (e.g. WinZip). The ZIP archive opened using this program contains compressed files; you can then save them to the hard drive (e.g. by dragging them to a directory on the desktop). This will extract the data and you can access the files as normal.
